Ever heard of Dylan Magon? If you haven’t by now, then you may well soon because the young Palermo-born rapper and singer could be about to take the music world by storm.
21 year old Dylan – who lives in Milan but both of whose parents hail from Mauritius – has just made it through to the semi-final of hit TV show The Voice of Italy, after his initial blind audition prompted all four judges to turn around in their chairs during his rendition of the Jason Derulo single ‘Talk Dirty’. His decision to team up with judging panel member J-Ax, the famous Italian rapper and former singer in the rap group Articolo 31, was obviously a good one, as last night his mentor selected him for one of his two semi-final places, after the other was won in a phone vote by singing nun Sister Christina.
Now the Italian rapper faces stiff competition in the semi final of this popular TV talent show, with an audience of more than 4 million viewers. Next week sees his toughest challenge yet, but with close family ties to Mauritius and huge support back home in Italy he’ll certainly have a global audience rooting for him.
